Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe Kassel: a recap

Hi Traveler,

In this post I will take you on a journey to the beautiful Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe in Kassel, located in the middle of Germany. Kassel itself is a beautiful city to visit, this post will only focus on the park to give you a quick insight on what to see and with some useful links if you wish to venture to it yourself. The park is an UNESCO heritage sight, and it is worth a visit! The style is in English landscape and boy did they pull it off! With some of the monuments dating back to the 1700’s! So be sure to pack your best sneakers for walking the whole day (check here for some tips about that).

What to see in the park?

The big Schloss (castle) is a beauty from the outside alone already. Do to time we did not enter the castle, but just look at this humongous building in the middle of the park. There is a museum inside for all you art lovers.

Kromlau Park: Instagram famous bridge

Guten tag Travelers,

A few days ago we visited the beautiful park in Kromlau, just 6 kilometers from the Polish border in Germany. This park is well known in the Instagram world for its beautiful bridge, the Rakotzbrücke.

Mini Eurotrip part II: Castle Lichtenstein and Switzerland

Day 2 of our trip started with a visit to Lichtenstein castle. If you are ever near it, visit! The surroundings are gorgeous and great hiking grounds. The castle itself looks amazing as well, just see below :).

Blausteinsee;  Lake in Eschweiler, Germany

Blausteinsee is a lake located in Eschweiler, Germany. It is close to the city of Aachen. Yes, it is a lake not a sea (in German language ‘see’ is lake and ‘mehr’ is sea).

The sight is 100 hectares big, and the lakes deepest point is 46 meters.

The company that runs the place (freizeitzentrum) offers different things to do around and in the lake. Diving, surfing, boats, canoes, surfing, swimming, hiking and cycling all can be done at the lake!

The lake is not hard to find, if you arrive to the area just drive all the way through, there is a parking spot just near the lake for just 2 euros where you can park your vehicle. From the city of Aachen the drive by car will take you around 30 minutes.

I surely enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and cold swim while it was 30+ degrees!

So, if you are ever in the area of Aachen or Cologne and in need of a dip in the water or in need of some nature, blausteinsee is a good place to visit!
