Kinderdijk is an UNESCO world heritage sight located in the Netherlands. Yes, my home country which is known for its eternal fight with water. But also, famous for windmills! If you love windmills, this is the place to visit. A total of 19 windmills occupy are situated around the Alblasserwaard polder. The windmills are built in the 18th century and have been maintained to an outstanding quality. No wonder this place is a hot spot for tourists who visit the Netherlands.

If you remember in our last blog about Stockholm, we took our cruise ship towards Turku. The departure from Stockholm was at 19:30 PM. The night would not be long, since breakfast was served from 6:00 AM, because the check-out off the cruise was at 7:00 AM. Early morning it is! After boarding off the cruise (we would hop into another cruise ship for the remainder of the journey) we put our stuff in the bus. We have arrived in Finland but in Turku.

Being into World War II and respecting the history of the horrible events happened during that period of time, visiting memorials that remember of that time always interest and touch me. The Chittagong War Cemetery (also known as the Chittagong Commonwealth War Cemetery) is a cemetery for fallen soldiers during World War II from the Commonwealth countries and was my first visit to a cemetery outside of Europe and the memorials in the US. It is not as big as the American Cemetery that is in my backyard in Margraten, but that does not make it impressive as well.
The cemetery was created by the British to honor soldiers of the Commonwealth countries who fought against Japan. Most of the graves are British nationalities.
