Exploring Downtown Boston

Boston is a great location for a city trip, we spend a few days here in the summer of 2022 and in this post I tell you about some of the hotspots we visited. It was our first big trip outside of Europe with our 1 year old son and after the pandemic, but we really enjoyed this vibrant city!

Visiting Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio, Brazil

Rio de Janeiro is one of the most vibrant and exciting cities in the world, and no visit to this bustling metropolis would be complete without a trip to the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue. This stunning monument is located on top of Corcovado Mountain, which towers over the city at a height of 710 meters above sea level. And oh yes, like the picture above: it is a tourist hotspot!

Hiking the Perito Moreno Glaciers in Argentina is one of the coolest things we done. We already wrote about our experiences before. But, now we can also share some video’s!

Monument to the Battle of the Nations, Leipzig (Germany)

From far and wide within Leipzig, you will see this enormous monument standing 91 metres tall! The monument was built between 1898 and 1913 and is a sight you must visit when in Leipzig!

Southwest-Friesland: canals, lakes and cozy villages

Beginning of the year we were a bit covid tired, so decided to take a trip to the North of the Netherlands. Southwest-Friesland is known for its cozy villages, lakes and canals. It also has beaches, since the Afsluitdijk closed the former sea years ago it became a fresh water lake. Calm waters, but still got that beach appearance! There is a lot to do in this province, if you want to know more about tourism is this region be sure to check their website. Here are a few pictures of our trip visiting several villages!

Germany from a highlight perspective, what you should experience!

We met, lived, loved and got married in Germany. A country that has a lot to offer when it comes to tourism, and can not be underestimated! If you get the opportunity to come to Europe for travels or studies for a longer time, make sure you also visit Germany along the way! Here are some of the experiences you should gain while visiting this great country!

Sandboarding in Huacachina, Peru

Oasis, desert and sandboarding. Those 3 words summarize the experience in Huacachina! This spot is a tourist hot spot in the middle of the desert. The little town has an oasis and is surrounded by dunes as high as one hundred metres!

Short blog: WW2 War cemetery Mierlo

Living in Geldrop nowadays, we are a part of the municipal Geldrop-Mierlo. Being interested in World War 2, I of course had to check out the small war cemetery of Mierlo located in the middle of a forest area.

Dear readers,

We wish you all the best for 2021. Hopefully the pandemic will be over soon, so we can get back to regular travel. We enjoyed a visit to the capital, seeing Amsterdam empty for the first time in our lifetime is so weird!
