Tip #4: Photo’s, photo’s and movies

Tip #4: Photo’s, photo’s and movies

You see a lot when you are travelling. Interesting streets, nature, wildlife, buildings and people. Of course you want to look back somehow to relive your trip, photo’s and movies are the answer to that.

And, take a lot of them! Even if you are a perfectionist, it is better to take 30 pictures of a sighting and pick out the perfect shot, instead of just taking one which you might not like after all.

Also, movies are great. I myself use a GoPro Hero 4 Silver edition, everything you record and you do not like you can edit out anyways!

Keep on recording y’all!

Tip #3: Staying with locals

Howdy travellers,

Another week, another tip!

Tip #3: Want to experience your trip to the fullest? Use the knowledge of the local population!

Meeting locals is one of my favorite things to do when abroad. There are a lot of people who love to give you some insight information about their culture and habits. Just go out and meet the locals!

There are a lot of apps on your smartphone to connect, like Tinder or Badoo (beware of people with other intentions though). But if you also want to save some money on ho(s)tels and not only meet but also stay with a local, I can highly recommend finding an host through Couchsurfing. A lot of like minded people host travellers and like to show you around and also hear your stories! Don’t forget to bring a small gift for the host 😉 (a cool alcohol bottle is always a great gift!).

Tip #2: Don’t be a snorlax, wake up early!

Howdy travellers,

To make my website more interesting I decided to post tips for all of you while abroad. Every week I will post a new tip to make life easier on the road!

Tip #2: Get out that bed, wake up early!

Why?

If you are travelling to for example Costa Rica or Panama, you want to see as much wildlife as possible! Since creatures are very active during the early hours (5-8 AM) you will have a better opportunity to spot all the animals that are on your list!

Even if you are in an urban environment it is good to get up early. You will arrive before the hordes of tourists and can take better pictures, you don’t have to use tactics to get that perfect shot! 🙂

So, talking in the current Pokemon Go hype, don’t be a Snorlax!

Tip #1: Local SIM-card

Howdy travellers,

To make my website more interesting I decided to post tips for all of you while abroad. Every week I will post a new tip to make life easier on the road!

Tip #1: Buy a local SIM-card

Why?
Buying a local SIM-card can be of great assistance in your trip, even if you go for a few days somewhere. What are the pluspoints?

  • You can use Google maps on your smartphone to look up all the places you want to visit;
  • You can make calls with locals, like your couchsurfing host or a local friend;
  • You can use the internet to check out what kind of special events you could attent on your location;
  • Sharing your pictures with your hometown friends and travel buddies on the world wide web can be done anywhere, anytime!

Keep on travelling and watch out for a new tip next week!
